KD Furniture has spent the last 26 years at the forefront of Australian furniture design and manufacture, operating a modern manufacturing facility in St Marys, Sydney.

We are currently seeking a creative and passionate Industrial Designer with 3-6 years experience to join our team. We are looking for someone with an accredited bachelor degree in Industrial Design or similar who has a passion for furniture design and can demonstrate a good appreciation for furniture designs, trends, local markets and manufacturing techniques.

Top-notch Solidworks, good sketching and Adobe skills are a must, but just as important is the ability to communicate with, and inspire our design and marketing teams with innovative and well resolved design solutions.

In addition, you should have a good knowledge of manufacturing techniques particularly around the construction of flat pack furniture, and be able to demonstrate the ability to develop designs to a level where they can be implemented into our factory for production.

Specific Skills Applicant should be able to demonstrate:
- High level hand sketching and rendering ability (essential)
- Solidworks 3D modelling skills (essential)
- Quality presentation skills
- Efficient ability to manage given projects within deadlines
- Articulate communications skills essential
- An understanding of materials and manufacturing techniques
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Ability to gather, research, analyze, evaluate, and create.
